Membership Updates - June 2026

Dear valued members of the LTRI,

Lately, as I’ve been in need of tools that provide calm, clarity, and relief from anxiety,  I’ve been thinking about the state of embodied awe, and learning about some of its amazing benefits.

Awe as a pathway to mental and physical health. For some, the felt sense of awe is one of amazement in nature, or during an important ceremony.  Awe often reminds us that we are part of something much larger than ourselves, and usually engages at least one of our senses. From the article linked above:  “Awe arises in encounters with stimuli that are vast, or beyond one’s current perceptual frame of reference (Keltner & Haidt, 2003).”  “Awe is expressed in a pattern of facial muscle movements, including raised inner eyebrows, widened eyes, and an open and slightly drop-jawed mouth (Campos et al., 2013; Cordaro et al., 2018; Shiota et al., 2003), and vocalizations such as “wow” or “whoa” (Cordaro et al., 2016; Simon-Thomas et al., 2009).”

Sound familiar? For me, this sounds like the open, soft, but energized orientation of structure and structural NRG and the engagement with a sense of “child-like curiosity” that is foundational to Lessac Kinesensics (LK). The location of LK principles within embodied awe got me inspired! Recently, I shared a nascent, short exploration during a membership Bauhaus session to “test” the use of LK elements to tap into embodied awe. How cool to have this "laboratory" space to “play with purpose” with ideas that are just forming!

I share this with you as a reminder that the LTRI provides so many opportunities and benefits to membership. See below! Take this as a reminder to get involved, and take just a moment today to tap into a sense of awe. Hope to see you soon.

With Respect,
Courtney
