Lessac body work:
Organic movement processes that support relaxation, energy, self-care and self-regulation;
Lessac body NRGs (energies) to cultivate ease and energy, enhance expression, and inspire dynamic creative choices.
Lessac voice work
Exploration of the expressive potential of the human instrument through vocalization and articulation;
Lessac vocal NRG’s for healthful vocal practice, self-care, and range for creative expression.
Lessac principles
Build strategies for ongoing vocal and physical wellbeing;
Self-guided techniques, performance strategies, and wellness practices to support both your craft and daily life.

Accommodation is not included in tuition. Local area recommendations will be provided when registration is complete. When you register you will be contacted to meet with one of our facilitators on Zoom to answer questions and learn about you. We want to meet you!

WHY LESSAC?
Actors, singers, educators, speech-language pathologists - and more - report transformative experiences in Lessac training programs, noting expanded vocal range, increased flexibility, and a deeper understanding of their unique vocal “fingerprint.” This training not only improves performance skills but also provides tools for protecting and sustaining voice and body in diverse contexts, fostering greater musicality in speech, improved communication, and enriched self-expression for both individual and collaborative work.
LOCATION
Fresno State is located in California’s Central Valley on a scenic 1,400-acre campus with over 4,000 trees, green open spaces, and a park-like feel. The campus features a working farm, creamery, store, Starbucks, a movie theater, event center, bowling alley, planetarium, and the Save Mart Center—the largest university indoor arena on the West Coast.
Fresno, California’s 5th largest city, offers students access to sports, entertainment, and internship opportunities, all within a three-hour drive to Los Angeles or San Francisco.
Outdoor lovers will find Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon National Parks just a short drive away, with stunning scenery, rivers, waterfalls, and the world’s largest trees.
MEET THE FACILITATORS
Michelle Bellaver is a California-based Certified Trainer in LK Bodyvoice. She works in film and theatre as an actor, director, producer, and writer. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, Actors Equity Association, VASTA, and ATHE. She is a Registered Somatic Movement Educator with ISMETA. She is an acting company member of The Hippodrome State Theatre in Gainesville, Florida, and an Assistant Professor in Acting and Directing at California State University, Fresno. She received her MFA in Theatre from the University of Florida. Michelle’s creative research has focused on the theory and praxis of The Female Gaze as a somatic practice in film and theatre performance and the development of a methodology for her Somatic "The Heart Centered Actor" training. She will present her research at the summer 2025 ATHE conference on two panels: “Compassionate Equity in Performance Training of Neurodivergent Actors” and “Beyond the Real, Working in Heightened Text”. At the 2024 VASTA Symposium, she presented her research on the panel: “Neurodiversity, Kinesensics, and the Need for Compassionate Equity in Performance Training”. At the 2023 ATHE conference, on the University of Florida’s panel, she presented her research on: "The Female Gaze: Deconstruction and Adaptation in Creative Process". At the 2022 Lessac International Conference, she presented a paper on her research titled "Lessac Body NRG’s and the creation of on-set film language for The Female Gaze: ‘The Feeling Camera". Some of her directing credits include her experimental film SAINT: 5 Etudes for Joan of Arc and her recent stage directing credits include Antigone by Sophokles (translated by Anne Carson), The Pliant Girls by Meghan Brown, Dry Land by Ruby Rae Spiegel, and Marie Antoinette by David Adjmi. She has received creative residencies in playwriting at The Tank/NYC, Dixon Place, and The Purple Rose Theatre Company. Her acting credits include the regional professional premiere of Other Desert Cities, the Off-Off-Broadway revival of How I Learned to Drive, as well as regional productions of POTUS, Don’t Dress for Dinner, She Stoops to Conquer, and Servant to Two Masters.
Crystal Robbins

Crystal Robbins is a Los Angeles-based Master Teacher of LK Bodyvoice . She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, and Actor's Equity. As a performer she worked closely with Oscar winners Sissy Spacek, Whoopi Goldberg and Brad Pitt; she has also logged time working with Dennis Quaid, Winona Ryder, & Alec Baldwin. Her New York credits include Broadway, off-Broadway and touring productions. She has been teaching LK bodyvoice at Santa Monica College since 2000 and co-creates short format workshops for adults, teachers and kids. A long-time recipient of grants for her Lessac-based K-12 programming (Kindersensics), she applies the work to kids, which is the subject of her upcoming book. She coaches privately in theatre/film/tv/voiceover where she helps working actors and professionals of all kinds with their confidence, charisma, and character development though the bodyvoice. She specializes in making sure that performers and speakers know how to keep their voices safe so they have a job after this one! She has facilitated at Lessac Intensives since 2015. Crystal was Arthur Lessac's assistant for the last 13 years of his life and brings a unique perspective from that time working with the founder of LK. She was a cofounder and director of the Burbank Youth Summer Theatre Institute (BYSTI) a Shakespeare Summer Program for children 6-16. The variety of her personal clientele extends far beyond traditional performers/speakers. She also coaches professors in other subject areas, business people, CEOs, content creators, puppeteers and recently has also coached Twitch streamers in a live-streamed production of Romeo & Juliet for a highly successful charity event benefitting the Twitch Women's Guilds. Crystal has written about Lessac applications related to various sensitive women's issues including childbirth, breast-feeding, and continues to explore LK in medical contexts like cancer surgery recovery, thyroid care, pelvic floor work and trauma. She is an RSME with ISMETA with training in Feldenkrais.

Full payment for workshop due December 5th, 2025.
We understand that in some cases plans must change. If you are no longer able to attend, please inform crystal.robbins@lessacinstitute as soon as possible. Refunds are issued per the schedule below. Please plan accordingly.
Refund Schedule
60-Day Cancellation (by November 5th, 2025): Refund of all monies paid minus your original deposit amount above.
30-Day Cancellation (by December 5th, 2025) Refund of 50% minus your original deposit. Non-refunded amounts (minus the deposit) can be used toward future events.
1-29 Day Cancellation (anything after December 5th, 2025) No refunds are given after December 5th. A credit will be issued that can be put toward further events, minus your original deposit amount which is not refundable.
